An Intellect IT Managed Private Network (MPN) provides a way for an organisation with offices located throughout the country to cost effectively and securely connect and share information. An MPN solution enables your offices seamless connectivity regardless of the connection types and location.
MPN network utilises a strong and robust core Cisco Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network that offers security comparable to Layer 2
ATM or Frame Relay infrastructure. Unlike IP based Private Networks (IPVPN), which rely
upon insecure public Internet to “tunnel” back to your private infrastructure, it does not
require a client, complex expensive encryption devices or specialist installation because your
Private Network starts where it should – at your premises – with no data travelling over a
public network.
The entire network is Quality of Service (QoS) enabled backed by a business grade Service Level Agreement (SLA) of at least 99.8% uptime.
How it works
Sites within a Private Network can communicate seamlessly and securely in a fully meshed
environment using standard routers, without the need for expensive VPN termination
equipment. Sites can interact transparently with each other, rather than requiring traffic to be
routed through a central location.
Each location is assigned its own internal subnet, allowing applications and network access to
be routed through the MPLS network similar to a LAN. This allows central administration of
the entire network from one location whilst reducing the time and cost involved in the
customer managing their WAN.
The speed of your network is determined by the carrier’s access technology and speed you choose
at each location - high speed access technologies up to Gigibit speeds may be appropriate for your
Head Office, whilst remote locations may use ADSL 1500Kbps / 256 Kbps connections.
Due to the flexible nature of our MPN offering, practically every technology is available to you, including Ethernet, Frame Relay, Wireless, xDSL (SHDSL, ADSL), ATM and permanent and ‘dial on demand’
ISDN and Dial-Up.
