GFI MailSecurity 10 critical bug
Monday, 13 April 2009
A rare engine bug has been found in GFI MailSecurity’s Grisoft AVG anti-virus scanning engine which leads to loss of incoming email..
A patch is available for GFI MailSecurity 10. This update should be installed by all GFI MailSecurity 10 customers who are using GFI MailSecurity’s Grisoft AVG scanning engine to scan emails (which is on by default).

The following update is included in the patch:
* FIXED: Issue which causes Grisoft AVG anti-virus scanning engine to fail when installing new virus definition files. This issue is caused by an integration problem between GFI MailSecurity 10 and a new virus scanning engine from Grisoft AVG, which causes subsequent update installations to fail. The new Grisoft AVG anti-virus scanning engine causing this incompatibility was released on March 12, 2009.
Patch can be downloaded from GFI Support.
