GFI Mail Security 10 SR8 Released
Friday, 17 April 2009
GFI MailSecurity 10 Service Release 8 (build 20090409) has been released and is available for download.
Changes within this build include:

  • UPDATE: Attachment-checking file size limits for files within archives. The file size limit in the Attachment-Checking is no longer applied to files within archive attachments.
  • UPDATE: Introduced optimizations in the downloads of the anti-virus updates to provide better availability and quality of service on the update servers.
  • UPDATE: Out-of-the-box support for Microsoft Office 2007 files.
  • UPDATE: The Quarantine Microsoft Access MDB databases have been replaced by Firebird databases to provide increased stability and reliability, and eliminate the 'cannot connect to middle layer' Web UI errors in the product. When upgrading from current GFI MailSecurity 10 public builds to this build, users are given the option to import the existing MDB-based quarantined items to the new Firebird database, as described in KBID001810
  • UPDATE: The Web UI Realtime monitor includes a new counter called "Unprocessed emails in the last 24 hours”, showing the number of unprocessed emails that ended up in the Failed Mails folder during the past 24 hours.
  • FIXED: Issue which causes a failure in the installation of differential anti-virus updates after being downloaded, thus causing the full update to be downloaded on certain installations. Note: This fix was released separately as  patch MSEC10_PATCH_20090225_01, as detailed in KBID003497
  • Please note this build also includes the updates released as patch MSEC10_PATCH_20090313_01, as outlined in KBID003508
